State Grid Brazil Holding Won the aucition for the second bipole of Belo Monte Transmission Line

  • State Grid Brazil Holding won the auction of the second bipole of Belo Monte Transmission Line held on the morning of Friday, 07/17/2015, by the National Electric Energy Agency (ANEEL). The transmission line will strengthen the flow of production of the energy produced in the hydroelectric plant of Belo Monte, from North to East.

    SGBH offered R$ 988 million, a discount of 19% compared to the annual maximum compensation allowed (RAP) of R $ 1.2 billion.

    The planned investment is $ 7 billion and the work will be performed in five states: Pará, Tocantins, Goiás, Minas Gerais and Rio de Janeiro. SGBH will be responsible for the implementation of 2550 kilometers (km) of transmission lines - from the Xingu to the Rio de Janeiro - and 7,800 MW of installed capacity in two converter substations.

    The structure will be built in direct current, with substations only at the beginning and end of the line, which reduces the transmission losses of energy. It will have 800 kV, which offers a large capacity power transmission blocks.

    It is expected to generate 15.400 direct jobs, the works must be delivered at the end of 2019, 50 months after signing of contracts.
