07/02/2014 - State Grid and partners win auction for Belo Monte

  • The consortium IE Belo Monte, formed by State Grid Brazil Holding (with 51% of participation) and by Brazilian Eletronorte (24.5 %) and Furnas (24.5 % ), controlled by Eletrobrás, was the winner of the transmission line auction of Belo Monte, carried out on Friday morning, 7, by National Electric Energy Agency (Aneel).

    The group won the auction still in the first stage of the event, with an offer of Annual Revenue Allowed (RAP) of R$ 434.647 million, 38% lower than the maximum established by Aneel, which was R$ 701 million.

    The companies will be responsible for the construction and operation of a transmission line of 2,092 kilometers and two power switch stations. The energy will flow from Pará to the load centers in the South East of the country. The planned investment is R$ 5 billion.

There are almost six thousand kilometers of transmission lines operated in the coming 30 years of concession, located in the southeast of the country.

The objective is to ensure security and more savings in the supply of clean and sustainable energy, in compliance with laws, regulations and local policies and in the defense of the interests of partners and communities.
